WebI've had people tell me the KLR which is a 5 speed should be in 5th gear by 75 kph. If you were doing that you'd be way out of the power band IMO. I ride 2nd gear around town (50kph) & 3rd if I want to be less whinny. 4th on the in town highways (80 kph). WebMay 30, 2010 · Put the tranny in neutral. Then go back to the middle of the movement range and depress the shift lever until you feel the pawl contact the other pin. The lever should move about the same distance in each direction.
