Escrick parish church
WebThe church that previously occupied the site was built by Beilby Thompson, Esq., of Escrick Park, in the year 1769, by power under a private Act of Parliament, sanctioning the removal of the church from the immediate vicinity of that gentleman's park to a more central and convenient situation. WebIn 1781 the site, which was situated to the west of Escrick Hall, was granted to Beilby Thompson on the condition that he built a new church elsewhere. A new parish church and churchyard were consecrated in 1783, but the church was replaced in 1857 by the present building, erected by the Lawley family.
