CalWORKs is a public assistance program that provides cash aid and services to eligible families that have a child(ren) in the home. The program serves all 58 counties in the state and is operated locally by county welfare departments. WebTo help you meet the county's 32-hour work/school requirement, the CalWORKs Program provides campus workstudy opportunities that allow you to work up to 20 hours a week when classes are in session and 37.5 hours (budget permitting) during summer and inter-sessions. Also, work-study income is not counted against your county grant.
